Fire Control Services can provide on-site live (real) fire training with different fire extinguishers with tutorials on the chemistry and theory of fires and personal responsibility in the workplace.
Fire Extinguisher Testing
These are required to be tested annually only, but if your property is a high risk and usage of fire extinguishers is high, a more frequent test and tag system should be adopted.
Fire extinguishers are actually very powerful tools for putting out fires in their early stages. We recommend and carry out training of staff in the use of fire extinguishers and recommend taking us up on this service because:
- it reinforces the requirements of all staff to take responsibility for the safeness of their workspace;
- it clearly explains the process and procedures they should adopt if the are faced with an event;
- it gives them an open forum to discuss issues or concerns they may have with an independent expert in a non-confrontational way; and
- it shows all staff and gives them opportunity to try and use an extinguisher in a safe environment and understand the potential for saving property and life.
We discuss the six classes of fires; A – F. and the Fire Triangle which without all three a fire cannot exist:
